Hello and welcome! I’m Dana the founder of Indalo Travel. My first trip to South Africa as a teen fundamentally changed the course of my life, so much so that I put down roots in Cape Town in 2015 and have been based here ever since.
I founded Indalo to create unforgettable travel experiences across Africa that shift perspectives and provide inspiration that carries into one’s life at home, all while supporting the African tourism economy.
As a foreigner living in South Africa, I was often asked by people in my network for guidance on their upcoming trips to the continent. After reading countless itineraries containing overpriced hotels, touristy recommendations, and unnecessary added costs, I decided to create a new way to access high-quality travel in Africa.
Indalo is a fusion of the two cultures I call home. We operate with the efficiency, timeliness, and entrepreneurial spirit of the high intensity culture I grew up with in Washington D.C., and experienced through my time at Vanderbilt and UCL. Meanwhile, I am committed to showcasing the unmatched hospitality and joyful, laid-back culture that defines African travel.
At the core of this company, lies a deep love for this continent and a simple belief that more people should experience it for themselves.
